On some sites where the text input isn't a proper input box, pressing Escape takes me back to the previous page is there anyway to fix this? (for example the wordle page.)

The website wouldn't open for me, so I decided to restart Firefox, after which it closed all my tabs and tab groups. My settings are set to "keep tabs after closing the browser." This hasn't happened before.

Whenever i try to open YT Videos or other in-browser videos in Full-Screen, the video only fills the screen to like 95%. The top and the left have a small bar, which just shows my desktop background. (See att.)

Closing the Full screen window and resizing the firefox window, repairs the issue. But after a restart it happens again.

Enabling hardware acc. kinda fixes it, but not consistently. And i would prefer to not use hardware acc.

A reinstall did not help and i dont seem to be the only one with this issue.

There is an issue with MKV video playback with MP3 audio track in FireFox. The problem is that MKV video plays MP3 audio track without any sound. With AAC audio track the problem is that MKV video initially downloads whole video and only then plays it. In comparison with MP3 and AAC the benefit of MP3 is much better quality and it starts playing without downloading whole video like MP4.

It would be nice if you add support MKV video with MP3 audio playback.

Yes, I'm using the dreaded Windows 10, I do understand it's at end-of-use, however this prob's been happening for ages. It's just got a little worse lately! (I've also got another hard drive with Windows 7 on it I swap the Windows 10 drive for sometimes. And we don't talk about the Windows XP hard drive with my music software on it. AARRRGGGHHH!!!! But the everyday drive with this problem is definitely Windows )

I don't use masses of extensions, just a VPN (which is there but not used a lot!) and is Proxy VeePN (that's its name, blame the designers, not me!) When I'm NOT using Firefox for a few moments, I hear the fans speed up, the hard drive spins like it's about to take off (old computer here!) The moment I touch the mouse, the fans all slump back to normal and the red 'HIGH USAGE' mark against Firefox vanishes back down to 'LOW'. Which makes it annoyingly difficult to analyze what's happening cos the moment I touch the mouse to find out what's happening, it stops happening!

Despite the above and its memory addiction - left to itself it munches memory like me with a crate of chocolate bars! - I do love Firefox best of all the browsers. I kinda know what causes the memory problem, by the way. I don't know all the techie terms but here's what's going on. Imagine you've got a house with an untidy kid in it. Every time one room gets too messy to use, you move into the next room. Eventually you run out of rooms. Then you restart the house back from day one, all the rooms are tidy again and you can use them all individually and happily - until Untidy Kid turns back up!

I'm on Firefox 148.0.2. If you've got any ideas about the CPU usage, I'm ulrichburke@hotmail.com. It doesn't seem to matter what websites I've got in the browser, it just does this when I've got it parked in the background, it's like it's twiddling virtual thumbs through boredom cos it's not being used.

Firefox android not synchronizing. I searching bookmarks synchronized on another device yeilds zerio results for a book matk saved on that other device How can I see thebbookmarks from that other device as it clearly has not sunchronized.

1. There used to be a choice in settings for Firefix mouse control to be optional. It is no longer available and apparently FF has created default mouse behavior.

The mouse behavior has become errant in a variety of ways. It interferes with everything online and started doing the same on the desktop.

The wheel is configured for three lines at a time on desktop. I do not want the mouse wheel to be doing anything else. I want either or both mouse buttons to open menus and function normally with links, copy and paste.

When looking in about:config the extensive number of configured mouse defaults is shocking. it is impossible to determine how to disable or delete any of them.

It has become impossible to scroll with the wheel and the scrollbar because the mouse jumps all over the page as if possessed.

It is impossible to scroll 3 lines at a time with the wheel, instead the mouse goes up and down and jumps to the top. Changing the number of scrolling lines on Desktop and in about: config so they are both 3 did not solve the problem. Tried changing both to 5 . . . no joy.

Expandable menus no longer open on some websites.

It has also become impossible to us the scrollbar effectively, instead the same behavior manifests as it does with the wheel - the mouse is jerky, going up and down and jumping to the top of the page, unpredictably.

Either way the mouse gets stuck moving up and down. After having successfully scrolled past where it was previously it returns, repeatedly, to the same previous lines each time I try to scroll further - in an endless loop.

If the mouse does functional, briefly, then half way down the page it starts misbehaving again. I already replaced the mouse several months back when the problem started, however, it was not constant. Then it started again with the new (usb) mouse. (Yes, I've cleaned it. No it is not worn out yet.)

2. Via a search I did find a list of adjustments to make in about:config while learning unexpected mouse behavior had become a common problem. I made at least 20 adjustments, and amazingly, there was no longer a problem! Smooth scrolling, no problems. However, after using the browser, closing and opening it numerous times, the errant behavior returned.

3. If there is no way to completely turn off FF mouse control, or use about:config to disable it entirely, then what is the last FF version that allowed saying "no" to what used to be optional mouse control, so it is possible to change back to it? If there is no other way to solve the problem, that should do it.

Any suggestions or solutions appreciated.

16 GB memory, 500 GB SSD. (chose to not install Windows 11 version 23 onward - so in the 22 gray zone that is both a windows 10 install and a windows 11 install - this is the windows 11 install).

I am use a Phomemo Thermal Label Printer for labels and packing slips. The print preview shows the whole page, but prints only a partial page and small print. Tried all setting but no difference.. See photos

Out of the blue all my bookmarks and passwords disappeared, When I follow your instructions there are no backups in your files. Toolbar is missing and right clicking shows a check mark but no toolbar, I have already switched to Chrome and guess what they have all my bookmarks but no passwords. Passwords are no problem I saved them more so than you backed up your files. I guess it was an update, I don't know. I am 85 years old and have used Firefox a number of those years, probably longer than whoever reads this has has been with us.I guess you know which path I'll be taking from now on. Just thought I would let you know. PS and there will not be anymore automatic updating I'll do it myself I trust me. Stick a fork in me I'm done !

I see a youtube video ready to play when I open my wifi icon on the taskbar. Only happens when Firefox has Youtube open in a tab and I've watched at least one video in preview mode or on the video page. I really wish to turn it off if I can.

I have been unable to access any secure sites since I installed Norton 360 Antivirus. Whenever I try to access a secure site I receive the reply: Secure Connection Failed Error: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR I have tried all of the repairs listed on the internet but none have corrected the fault. I have also tried disabling Norton but also without success I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox but without success Can you suggest any other methods to correct this fault

My computer ran into an error and restarted and I lost my entire browsing history, bookmarks, extensions, etc. Now I have nothing saved and the only browsing history my computer is showing is when I briefly opened microsoft edge. I regularly used duckduckgo, so most of my data is gone. Is there anything that can be done or is it just gone.

Starting at 148 if a user is using Firefox and attempts to log into our MS RDP Application server using HTML, they can log in, but when they select an application, they get stuck at the loading screen with no progression. If they download the RDP file direct it works fine. It's only when using the HTML RDP website with Firefox.

Things we've tried

• We verified it began with 148.0.
• We've tested on multiple devices across multiple networks with multiple users.
• We've tried fresh installs and we've tried without any add-ons.
• We do have Duo securing that server, but I tested a user under bypass and it went right through.
• All other browsers work fine.

I need to install PKCS#11 modul on iMac (OS: Ventura 13.7.4) for signature authorization. I try: Settings-> Privacy and Security-> Certificates-> Security devices-> Load-> Modul filename: /Applications/CertiliaMiddleware.app/Contents/pkcs11/libCertiliaPkcs11.dylib , but I get an answer: "Unable to add modul". In order to install a certificate for signing with a card, I was informed that I need to install this modul first, but it doesn't work. What should I do? Thanks, Martina

My son tried to voicemail me on Messenger but it said this browser does not support voicecalling. I have used this in the past, still on Firefox. I used to get note that a call was coming ans option to connect or discard. Now there is no option to connect. What can I do to get this service back?

This has started a few days ago. I'm running Firefox Desktop on Windows 11. Browsing is perfectly normal, until I try to watch a video in full screen mode. It plays normally for a few seconds and then my whole system freezes, with no response to any action except for hard reset. This has never happened to me before, and all other browsers I try do not demonstrate the same problem. Is there any solution other than changing browser permanently?

Firefox has "Open previous windows and tabs" ticked in Settings. I had to force restart MacOS, and upon starting Firefox again my existing windows are invisible. They are shown in the Window menu and when right-clicking the Firefox icon in the MacOS dock, however when I select one of the windows it does not become visible. Command+` does not show the windows either.

I can however open new windows.

I tried renaming xulstore.json per this old article with no effect.

How can I make the existing windows visible again?
